Company boosts ECP support, appoints Ron Reed to lead new service program for North America and welcomes medical technology integration veteran Lance Brown

Bensenville, IL: Following their recent announcement about the new and enhanced Clinical Education and Training Program, Luneau Technology continues to solidify its focus on customers’ success by launching a new service program that will offer an elevated level of technical support for current customers as well as help Eye Care Professionals who want to modernize their practices with emerging technologies. Building on the traditional equipment repair and maintenance plans that have been offered throughout the years, Luneau Technology redefines the customer experience by introducing new services and expertise that are focused on Visionix® technology implementation—and more in-depth service consultation for Briot® finishing solutions.

Enhanced Service Solutions built on 150 years of collective experience

Industry veteran Ron Reed will be driving the enhanced Service Solutions program as National Customer Support and Maintenance Manager. He brings to the team a wealth of experience in customer support and leadership roles in corporate manufacturing, retail, and optical lab environments. He has worked in the eye care industry since the 1980s and brings 35 years of service support history with some of the largest retailers.

A member of the Luneau Technology North American Leadership Team, Reed has been with the company for a combined 10 years. He is one of the original members of the Briot USA team, rejoining in 2017 as a Regional Field Service Manager covering the eastern United States. In this newly created role, he will lead a team of regional field service, technical and customer service specialists. He will also be working closely with global Service Leadership to implement initiatives and tools to support this enhanced program.

ECPs can rest assured that their device maintenance and technical issues will be managed by experts who they have worked with over the last few years of the company’s brand and product evolution. The regional field service team includes industry veterans Rick Bowles, Deland Yee, Eric Sevigny, Carlos Ramirez, Jim Roger, Ali Akbar and Surendra Wagle. The field team will be working closely with Sales,

Application Specialists and HQ-based specialists to help ECPs maximize the use of their equipment, and it includes Dennis Jensen, Ken Kicmal, Modesto Contreras, Peter Mihov; and Customer Service Representatives Patty Sivek and Victor Aranda. This team offers over 150 years of collective service and support experience.

Reed will be working closely with Canada Territory Manager Doug Hart, and Field Specialists Wayne Hodgins and Nash Beshay to scale service coverage for ECPs across North America.

Introducing a new level of technical expertise for Visionix technologies

Luneau Technology also welcomes Lance Brown as Tier 3 Client Support Engineer. Brown brings two decades of experience in medical device software integration for private practice, retail, and government settings. In his newly created role, Brown will be responsible for advanced technical consultation, connectivity needs assessment, and issue resolution for the Visionix product family. He will be reporting to Ron Reed and will be working closely with fellow Tier 3 Client Support Engineer Tommy Orr.

Before joining Luneau Technology, Brown was Director of the Software Integration Group (SIG) at Natus Hearing and Balance (formerly Otometrics North America and Audiology Systems) where he played a pivotal role in the introduction and implementation of a unique Connectivity Solution that combines multiple tests within one or more devices into a single user interface and test report—regardless of equipment manufacturer—as well as EMR-integration solutions for practices that are part of a large health care system or retail chain. Brown served four years with the United States Air Force after completing a degree at the University of Memphis.

“Lance’s comprehensive expertise in medical device technologies and telehealth programs will help us customize the right level of support for ECPs to maximize their use of remote-ready Visionix solutions. His proven background with software integration will greatly enhance our support to help customers maximize the use of one or multiple Visionix products within their practice,” says Reed. “Our expanded Customer Support team will work cross-functionally with Optical and Clinical Application Specialists to support the full customer experience, with added emphasis on new technology implementation and practice transformation. I am confident that we are well positioned to support our customers across diverse clinic settings, specialties, and connectivity needs.”
